Cats Live Out Purrfect Cosplay as Enamel Pins

CatCon, the premiere LA pop culture/cat convention was this past weekend and it was pure purrfection. Cat enthusiasts hobnobbed with kitty celebrities, viewed feline art, and got to shop aisles upon aisles of cat-related merch.

It’s there that I happened upon Truck Torrence of 100% Soft. His booth was filled with cute kitty items, but his charming cat cosplay pins stood out for their uniqueness. Harley Quinn, Star Wars Jabba and Slave Leia cats, even a cat cosplaying as Barb from Stranger Things were all represented in accessory form. The enamel pin is as popular as ever and these designs fit right in with both the geeks and the cat lovers.

Truck’s designs were inspired by his own little pet. “The past two years I haven’t been able to make San Diego Comic-Con,” he told Nerdist, “So I’ve drawn little cartoons of me and my cat Admiral Whiskers dressed up at home in our cosplay.”

“This year I drew my cat in a Barb from Stranger Things cosplay and got a pretty big response from it, so I thought it’d be really fun to make a pin out of it for CatCon.”

By “pretty big response,” he means that once cat fans saw the pins on social media, they more or less ran to his booth for the merch.

As for plans for more cat cosplays, Truck is a big fan of Overwatch, so maybe a pawsitively cool D.Va or MeowCree is in our future. Better get that paw-some BAMF belt ready. You can see all of Truck’s cat cosplay pins and more online at shop.100soft.us.
