Carrie-Anne Moss is Back for the IRON FIST Series

Last year, Carrie-Anne Moss joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first season of Jessica Jones. Today, Marvel and Netflix jointly announced that Moss will continue to reprise her role as Jeri Hogarth in the Iron Fist series.

Moss’ character is a gender-flipped version of Jeryn Hogarth, a lawyer who has worked closely with Danny Rand/Iron Fist since his first appearance in 1976. Moss’ Jeri Hogarth is a more morally ambiguous character who isn’t as altruistic as her comic book counterpart, but her inclusion in Iron Fist makes sense. In fact, she may be one of the few characters to appear in all four of the original Marvel programs on Netflix if she shows up on the Luke Cage series, too.

Near the end of Jessica Jones‘ first season, Hogarth was on the verge of being forced out of her firm. By the time of Daredevil‘s second season, Hogarth was seemingly back in control when she hired Foggy Nelson. That scene may have also a hint about Hogarth’s agenda, as she indicated to Foggy that she is getting ready for cases revolving around “vigilantes.” Hogarth had also tried to use Kilgrave’s unborn child to replicate his powers, which suggests that she envies the abilities of “enhanced humans.” Or she wants to control them, if possible.

The Iron Fist series is currently in production with Finn Jones in the title role, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum. Iron Fist doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but it is likely to drop on Netflix in 2017.
