It sounds informercialesque but it could change the way butter is currently being consumed. In other words: you’re doing it wrong, let’s bring in a robot. The Biēm is a handheld machine that takes in a whole stick of butter, but only melts the right amount of butter you need for any food item—and with just one touch of a button.

Using just heat and air, butter is ready to spray within seconds. The machine is cool to the touch and supposedly is so easy to clean that there’s not even a problem with clogging. Well, that is, except for your arteries.

If your main concern is that you’ll lose power right in the middle of a butter emergency, don’t fret. The Biēm’s charge lasts “anywhere from an estimated one week (for a typical family of four with each person using it at every meal), to six weeks (for a single person)” and runs on a high density Lithium battery pack that’s equivalent to a 4AA equivalent. Available now for preorder through a Kickstarter campaign, the Biēm team has already tripled its goal, proving that butter consumption in the U.S. has hit a 40-year high. This revolutionary butter dispenser is expected to begin shipping in September 2016.

According to the website, “The war against butter is over. Butter won.” I had no idea there was a war against butter and I feel slightly bad that I missed it. But to be fair, I was busy eating butter.
