Burn it. Burn it all.
Today started as a “pop emergency”–the good kind!–when Rihanna revealed her excellent new track “Work”, but quickly devolved into a “garbage catastrophe” when Kanye West, like a dormant volcano, erupted on Twitter at fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa after he insulted the name of Kanye’s forthcoming album, Waves. After the whole Neil deGrasse Tyson vs. B.o.B Flat Earth tiff, this week has become the beefiest of 2016. While you might be thinking “who gives a shit” (and I agreeeeee), the whole thing has spawned some pretty excellent memes, and we would be remiss if we didn’t show you the Star Wars, Rick and Morty, and Space Jam-themed memes borne from this lunacy.
Okay first things first: let’s look at some of Kanye’s rant below. First it started with Kanye insulting Wiz in numbered tweets (now deleted), and then turned into misogynistic digs at their shared ex, and then weirdly turned into compliments about Wiz Khalifa’s pants? It was gross, and awesome, and confusing.
Editor’s note: some language may be NSFW, so proceed at your own peril.
Okay, I only have one question: WHY HE DO THIS? While I don’t have any answers to this burning, urgent, culturally significant quandary, I do have some pretty dank ass memes. Let’s check them out below!

I don’t even remember if Doc was wearing pants in Back to the Future? I just imagine him only in a lab coat onesie for some reason. Also cowboy clothing–can’t forget the cowboy clothing.
Hmm, sounds familiar, Kanye? cc: @RickandMorty pic.twitter.com/GlUq34nGrq

We bet Mr. Poopy Butthole has a hot take on this whole beef ordeal. Hopefully we find out in Season 3 in like a year-and-a-half .

C’mon Wiz, did you even take the time to consider the fact that Rey might be a Kenobi? How do you explain Ewan McGregor’s and Alec Guinness’s voiceovers in The Force Awakens, fam?

And what about Knuckles?! There is definitely deviantART fan fiction for this though.
Kanye you've gone too far. We can't handle all this truth. pic.twitter.com/EQGcAIHEUn

No joke, this is always something that has irked me so I am glad this is being brought to light. Technically, MJ jumped well before the three point line, so he should have been awarded the commensurate three points by NBA rules. For more technical grievances about basketball in pop culture, make sure to check out our in-depth analysis of the basketball scenes in High School Musical.

Batman v Superman v Kanye v Wiz sounds like a weird court decision about free speech or DC’s “f–k it” alternate sequel to Dawn of Justice.

THIS ACTUALLY NEVER MADE SENSE THOUGH. I AM GLAD KANYE IS TALKING ABOUT THE ISSUES THAT MATTER.

Clearly, Kanye has an awful lot going on up there.

Well, Twitter is a terrible, glorious place and we hope this incident spawns more memes and/or shuts down social media permanently. We’d be fine with both. Let us know your favorite Kanye memes in the comments below.
