If you’ve been champing at the bit for a better look at Bungie’s Destiny, look no further than this new gameplay video released today, in conjunction with the ubiquitous GameStop preorder announcement.

From Bungie itself:

Beneath the ruins of the Cosmodrome, in the shadow of an old colony ship, we’ve located the House of Devils’ lair. Fight the Fallen, burn back the Hive, and clear a path that leads straight into E3, Beta, and beyond.

Yeah, I don’t know what most of that means, either. But it definitely looks like the sci-fi shooter we’ve been expecting from the Halo creators.

As for the preorder scheme, if you put down money early for the game, you’ll get the Sparrow, the shiny personal transport you see in the image above, which has a little more get up and go than the Sparrow available to everyone else.

Destiny launches September 9th.
