Hermione Goes Full Beyoncé in Delightful LEMONADE Parody Song

It’s no secret that this particular writer has been listening to—and expounding the brilliance of—Beyoncé’s Lemonade since its release. Not only did the musical video/special/spectacular/opus air right before the season six premiere of Game of Thrones, the girl power nature of so much of what she sings about feels extremely relevant to the arcs of some of the characters in Westeros and Essos. But like all things Bey, it also extends to other universes—like that of everyone’s favorite nerdwitch, Hermione Granger.

The Harry Potter heroine has always been a strong, badass sorta bookworm to which so many of us can relate—right down to her love of nerdy dimwit (we still love you though), Ron Weasley. Thankfully for us, YouTuber The Storyscape donned her best robes and broke down the love between Hermione and Ron—if Ron was as stupid as Jay-Z and cheated on the greatest person to ever happen to his life, Hermione/Beyoncé. In a mash-up of the Bey track “Hold Up” and the Potterverse, our more musically inclined Hermione lists the issues she has with her man in a track she’s dubbed “Wand Up.” And slay it she does, with nary a cruciatus curse to be found. Because Hermione, just as Beyoncé, knows the truth: always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper. Accio that hot sauce in your bag swag, because this Hermione is on fire. Can we turn Harry Potter and the Cursed Child into a musical and include this in a Ron/Hermione dinner fight scene? Asking for a me.
