Build-A-Bear Workshop Has Revealed What Their Pikachu Doll Looks like

We were so excited when Build-a-Bear Workshop and The Pokémon Company announced in October that customizable Pikachu dolls would soon be available in workshops everywhere, that we almost burst at the seams and got our stuffing everywhere. We’re fine now, but today, Build-a-Bear shared the first official images of their Pikachu doll, and it looks pretty true to what we’ve come to expect of our favorite electric rodent.

That’s him above, and below is the super neat stuff he comes with if you get the online-exclusive version (which is available for pre-order for $60): The 15-inch Pikachu himself (which features exclusive sounds when you squeeze his cute ‘lil paw), a Charizard hoodie, a Pokéball hoodie, and an exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game card.

If you don’t feel like waiting in line at Build-a-Bear Workshop among a horde of children, they are offering a pre-order option, which gets you “a $28 e-gift card that you can later redeem in store for a Make-Your-Own Pikachu.” While there isn’t yet a firm release date for the Pikachu doll, IGN believes it should be available for the holiday rush in December, while we previously speculated that it will come out sometime in February to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original Pokémon games releasing in Japan.

Even if you’re not interested in the doll, this might be the only opportunity to pick up this exclusive card, unless you want to pay too much for it on eBay. Besides, the doll is adorable, so, you know, just get it.
