Build-a-Bear Adds SUPER MARIO and a Few Nintendo Friends

By any measure, 2017 has been a banner year for Nintendo. The Nintendo Switch has sold over 10 million consoles, while Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may be among the best games ever made. Nintendo has once again proven that its characters can withstand the test of time. Now, Mario and his friends are joining the Build-a-Bear line so that fans of all ages can finally get a Nintendo themed teddy bear.

First up is Super Mario himself, but after the events of Super Mario Odyssey, we can’t be certain if this is a teddy bear dressed as Mario or if Mario is using Cappy to possess a teddy bear. Either way, he’s got Mario’s signature mustache.

Not to be left out, Luigi and Princess Peach are also getting their own Build-a-Bears. Although we really think that Luigi Bear should have come with his own mustache as well. He just doesn’t seem like a Mario brother without it!

Surprisingly, our favorites of this batch are Mario’s old friends Toad and Yoshi the dinosaur. That’s probably because they are plushies and they haven’t been transformed into bears.

If fans don’t necessarily want their bears to be Mario, then they can simply represent Mario by rocking this red hoodie..

Finally, there’s a Bowser stuffed toy that’s pretty close to his character model, but he’s a lot cuddlier when he isn’t trying to kidnap Peach or continue his war with Mario.

Build-a-Bear is currently offering its Nintendo themed bears on its official site, with options to give Bowser some audio expressions or allow each bear to play the Super Mario theme when hugged.

What do you think about the Super Mario bears? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
