Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, and Joe Wright are Heading to BLACK MIRROR

Big news for fans of the British turned soon-to-be Netflix original series Black Mirror: it was announced Wednesday that some high level celebrity talent would be joining the new season both in front of and behind the camera. Director Joe Wright will be taking on an episode starring Jurassic World‘s Bryce Dallas Howard and Star Trek: Into DarknessAlice Eve. All of the new episodes were penned by series creator Charlie Brooker, who will showrun the new installment of the series alongside Annabel Jones.

Wright—who directed the most recent adaptation of the Peter Pan story, Pan, starring Hugh Jackman, Levi Miller, and Rooney Mara—was also the man behind The Soloist, Pride & Prejudice, and Atonement. There’s no word yet on what his episode will focus on in particular, but Black Mirror is best known for its darkly satirical look at the way technology affects our world.

Just last month preliminary casting news broke, reveling that Concussion and Doctor Who‘s Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Halt and Catch Fire‘s Mackenzie Davis. Netflix delighted many a Black Mirror fan when they announced in September of last year that they would produce a whopping 12 episodes of the series. I say “whopping” because to date, there have only been six total episodes of the show, plus a Christmas special starring Jon Hamm. The anthology series arguably got a big boost from being added to Netflix, quickly being devoured by audiences across the pond and around the world who may not have had access to it on its original home at Channel 4. Still, as casting details are revealed, we’ve still yet to learn of a release date for the new season. Stay tuned for updates as they come!

Are you looking forward to seeing the new Neflix episodes of Black Mirror? How do you feel about having such high profile talent associated with the series? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
