Bryan Cranston’s Ominous GODZILLA Speech, an Empire Cover, and a Waveform of the Roar

In case the ear-shattering majesty of Godzilla’s roar wasn’t enough to get you excited for the Gareth Edwards-directed Godzilla film, then a) who are you and b) you’re in luck because the film’s Facebook page dropped a double dose of teaser-y goodness this afternoon in the form of a waveform video of the iconic roar and something a little more ominous.

The official Godzilla Facebook page also linked to a new section of the film’s website, godzillamovie.com/awakenthetruth, an ominous black-and-red splash page with audio of a very angry Bryan Cranston yelling about how something terrible is coming and one line of text: “2.25.14 10:00AM PST”. Chances are that we’ll be treated to a brand new Godzilla trailer when the countdown strikes zero, but I’d also be totally on board with an I Love Bees-style ARG. (Editor’s note: Or something like this.) Regardless, expect a lot of browsers to be frantically refreshed come tomorrow morning

And if all of that didn’t get your kaijuices flowing, then check out this awesome Godzilla cover from Empire.

  1. Edward Gundrum says:

I want a poster of that magazine cover on my wall.

  2. Chris Tipton says:

Kaiju has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s what brought me and fiancĂ© together in a “MST3k” kind of way. Now to have an American version that Toho will be proud of just gives me goose bumps. When I saw the teaser more than a year ago with Oppenhiemer saying “We knew the world would not be the same. Few people laughed, few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.” I truly shed a tear.

  3. Jared Hefley says:

If that movie were to be cancelled before it hit theaters, it would surpass the 1998 version in every conceivable way.

And that waveform looked more like the spines on Gojira’s back than the roar.

  4. Mikey says:

Can’t wait any longer, hopefully it surpasses the 1998 film in every way

  5. Sean says:

HELL FREAKING YAH!!! I grew up watching the Godzilla movies on TV on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and even made it through the Emmerich version. I just really hope that they do the franchise right with this one; so far from what little they have shown, I don’t think we will be disappointed.
