Brian Williams Covers Sir Mix-a-Lot’s ‘Baby Got Back’

Not since Benedict Cumberbatch’s dramatic reading of R. Kelly’s “Genius” has a white man interpreted rap lyrics with such soulfulness as NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams in his edited cover of “Baby Got Get Back.” Getting all the funk that Sir Mix-a-Lot missed, Williams’ version of the popular ditty benefits from a cameo appearance by an admittedly horny Kathie Lee Gifford and one of the more creative uses of Supreme Leader of North Korea Kim Jong-Un’s name. Granted it’s all been remixed by the folks at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, but still. Observe the glory below.

The Tonight Show‘s prior presentations of Williams’ mad skills include the favorites “Gin and Juice” (in which he admitted to possessing a pocketful of rubbers) and “Rapper’s Delight” (in which he advised that if our girl starts acting up, we take her friend). Perhaps Williams’ next effort — whatever it may be — could feature a guest appearance by his daughter Allison (of HBO’s Girls). Because we all know there’s nothing young people enjoy more than the sight of their parents getting all down and funky.
