Bradley Cooper to Make Directorial Debut with Beyonce in A STAR IS BORN

In 2012, talks about another remake of A Star is Born made the rounds. It was to star Beyonce and be directed by Clint Eastwood. Over time, the talk became quieter and quieter until the film was put back on the shelf.

Fast forward to 2015 and A Star in Born is being RE-born. Beyonce is once again going to star, however without Clint Eastwood directing. Now it will be Bradley Cooper, who will also costar in the film, making his feature directing debut.

A Star is Born tells the story of Esther, an aspiring actress who travels to Hollywood to make it big. Along the way she meets and falls in love with an actor whose troubles send his star on a downward spiral, just as hers is about to soar.

This will be the fourth time A Star is Born has been made for the big screen. The original came out in 1937. The second remake, the most famous version, was released in 1954 and stars Judy Garland and James Mason. Another version was released in 1976 and stars Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

No other casting has been announced, and production will begin in late 2016/early 2017. That’s good because that means there will be no conflicts for Cooper to record his voice work for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

So what do you think? You’ve seen Bradley Cooper in front of the camera plenty. Will you check out his work behind it? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
