Hulu Brings TGIF Back with BOY MEETS WORLD, DINOSAURS, HOME IMPROVEMENT, More

When we were kids we couldn’t wait to grow up and go out on Friday nights, but now we’re adults and we can’t wait to stay in and re-watch TGIF shows. Sure, nostalgia can cause problems when you force your past into your present at inappropriate times (I honestly thought my Charlotte Hornets Starters jacket would go over well at that wedding), but there’s nothing wrong with looking back at your favorite childhood sitcoms. Which is why we see no problem with how much time we plan on spending with Hulu and our favorite ’90s TGIF sitcoms.

Hulu has announced that—as part of their exclusive new deal with Disney-ABC Television Group—the complete series runs of Boy Meets World, Dinosaurs, and Home Improvement are now available to stream on the service. These are in addition to the previously announced TGIF shows of Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step, Perfect Strangers, and (the criminally underrated) Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, all of which are on Hulu starting Friday, September 29th.

In total, the deal adds over 800 additional episodes of television to Hulu, which means it now has 1,200 classic ’90s TGIF shows in total. In the immortal words of Uncle Jessy, “Have mercy.”

Because nostalgia isn’t always bad. Now we can relive every inspirational speech Mr. Feeny gave, which was a big part of helping us grow into mature adults. And we can remember learning how to work through problems after seeing how Tim and Jill would have a disagreement at home, he would discussed it on his TV show, then get advice he didn’t understand from his anonymous neighbor before everything somehow worked out in the end (you remember that one episode, right?). And now we can be reminded about the terrible nature of existence that we learned about when the Dinosaurs‘ finale ended with their mass extinction.

Oh…yeah….not everything in our past was uplifting. But everything before that was fun!

Watching shows beloved shows from your childhood is the visual equivalent of wearing your sweet Starters jacket, but without having to endure the disapproving looks of the bride’s father. And trust me, that’s a good thing.
