Blizzard Decides to Complete Child’s OVERWATCH Character Design

Blizzard wins at life, especially their public relations team. As you may already know, Overwatch is finally here and the hype surrounding the new IP is at an all-time high. So much so,that Blizzard fan Shane Hickey’s young daughter decided she wanted to get in on the fun by creating her very own character named Birst. Naturally, her father went on Twitter to share his daughter’s awesome creation:

Blizzard artist, Roman Kenney, then took the image to create a more polished product. Here’s the concept art that was created using all of the information provided by the young fan, including the attack details:

Awesome, right?

While this art is obviously rad, it’s even cooler that the team made a kid’s day. Let’s hope that this inspires her to keep on loving video games. Maybe one day she’ll become an artist for a developer.

Good on Blizzard for paying attention to all their fans, even the younger crowd. And let’s give them credit for being judicious PR wizards this time. Remember “bootygate”? Without going into too much detail, the character Tracer’s butt offended people. Blizzard’s response was to change her stance to one that still showed off her behind.

My only question is: When will we be able to download Birst? It would be damn epic to add this boomerang-wielding hero to the roster.

Are you playing Blizzard’s latest title? Which character have you been using to strike fear into the opposing team? Burst your thoughts in the comment section below.
