When we last left off with Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff and Science Guy Bill Nye, the two intellectual supernovas were talking all about “rollercoastering”âwhich may or may not be a real wordâand dissecting the band’s recent hit called, oddly enough, “Rollercoaster.”
The conversation was the first in a two-part video series called “Nye In The Afternoon with Jack Antonoff of Bleachers” and, at long last, the second installment has finally been released.
In the newest clip, Antonoff and Nye go a little off-book from the previous amusement park ride discussions and focus more on aspects of domestic scienceâlike, how many nerdy guys does it take to fix a refrigerator?
Apparently, the answer is two.
In addition to learning that Nye’s facial profile resembles the outline of the state of New Jersey, at least according to Antonoff, fans are privy to a couple other unexpected facts about the educator, comedian, and TV host from the video.
For example, when Nye was a young ladâwhich is mildly difficult to imagineâhe used to safety-pin a towel around his back as a cape and pretend to fly.
Or, after being asked about whether or not he’s seen the cult-classic thriller Fear, he says no but adds, “I have no problem with Reese Witherspoon.”
Good to know.
Because we’d hate to spoil the joy you’ll get from watching this, we’ll zip our lips right about now.
However, if you’d like to keep swooning over Bill Nye, pick up a copy of his newest book, Undeniable: Evolution And The Science Of Creation, out now. While you’re at it, feel free to add Bleachers’ debut album, Strange Desire, to your cart, too.
