Bill Hader to Guest Star on BROOKLYN NINE-NINE

If you’re looking for some new Brooklyn Nine-Nine intel, Fox has what you need with this summer’s hottest casting news: Bill Hader will be stepping in to play the precinct’s new captain.

This show has everything: Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Joe Lo Trulio, and now the former SNL star and current Mr. Peanut voice, Bill Hader. After Braugher’s Captain Holt was reassigned in last year’s second season finale, the episode ended with the rest of the precinct waiting for the new, unnamed captain by the elevator. The show concluded without revealing who was waiting in there, but now we know that Hader will be the one stepping out.

With Braugher still in the cast (and generating a supporting actor Emmy nomination for both seasons), it seems as though Hader’s role will not be a permanent one, but any chance to see him and his former Saturday Night Live cast member Samberg reunited on screen will be an opportunity fans of his will take.

The only information on Hader’s character is that he is “efficient,” which could also describe the very proper Captain Raymond Holt, who despite his stiff upper-lip has proven to be both a loving and beloved boss on the very funny and secretly sentimental show. Will Hader’s character prove to be Holt’s equal in annoyingly proper behavior without all the secret fun, or will Hader’s character go in a very different direction? With his broad range of voices, characters, and impressions, the possibilities for Hader’s captain seem endless.

So which direction do you hope they take with the show’s newest captain? Let us know in the comments section below.
