Beyonce and Jay Z May Have Made a Secret Album Together (Which Will Be Out Soon)

Following the release of Beyoncé’s album LEMONADE, it was speculated that parts of the record were disparaging of husband Jay Z, based on lyrics like these, from “Don’t Hurt Yourself: “This is your final warning / You know I give you life / If you try this shit again you gon’ lose your wife.” Then, it was rumored that Jay Z was working on an album of his own, in response to these suggestions of adultery.

Of course, it’s also possible that the lyrics on LEMONADE are just a fictional narrative, one that Jay Z may have helped develop, because that would be an extremely public airing of dirty laundry otherwise.

Today, the already fascinating story got much more interesting: It is being reported by Page Six that a collaborative effort between the two is already completed, and that it will be released on streaming service Tidal very soon. A source is cited as saying, “Jay and Beyoncé were never going to do an interview to address all the questions that came up after LEMONADE. It’s more their style to respond through music.”

This claim isn’t that outlandish, as the two have worked on songs together several times over the years, with songs like “’03 Bonnie & Clyde,” “Crazy in Love,” and “Drunk in Love,” among others. It has also been recently reported that Jay Z has spent some time in the studio over the past month “working on an album telling his side of things.” Nobody ever said Beyoncé wouldn’t be involved in that telling.

What do you think of the rumors? Let us know in the comments what you think Jay Z has really been up to since life handed him LEMONADE.
