Better Late Than Never: Fleet Foxes Single!

Harmony and butter. Individually they’re two of my favorite things. However, when mixed, they sound like a bad stripper name. BUT, if one band deserved the stripper name “Harmony Butter,” it would be Fleet Foxes, because their harmonies melt in your mouth like the butteriest chocolate chip cookie, or good popcorn. Okay, I’ve overused this metaphor, but you get the picture.

Their new single, Helplessness Blues, was released last month, and the vote is unanimous. It’s wonderful. (By unanimous, I mean myself, my co-writer Matt, and our fearless leader Chris really really like it.) So, please listen. Maybe even spare 99 cents on iTunes? Their new album, also called Helplessness Blues, is due to drop May 3rd! Gear up, nerds!

It doesn’t get much better than this.

  2. Garrett says:

Yeah, I got it for free off of the big music blog stereogum but you are right, sir. This may just be my favorite song I’ve heard from them. I will definitely be buying this album.

Ooooo. Mmmm. Oh… OH my … They ARE good aren’t they? Thank you! I spent quite a few years under exposed to music, so I’m always happy to learn about good new (or old) music! ^_^ (I also checked out those foreign musics you posted about the other day. I feel the same, LOVE music in languages I don’t understand. Makes the voice another instrument and it become all about the sound)

it was free for the longest on their web-site. I think it was a token of appreciation for their fans, who’ve been waiting forever for the new CD.
