BATMAN: ARKHAM VR Video Teases New Villains and Deathtraps

In just a few weeks, Rocksteady Studios will take gamers inside the cowl of Gotham City’s Dark Knight in Batman: Arkham VR. As the name implies, this title does take place in Rocksteady’s Arkham game series as it throws Bruce Wayne’s alter ego into a harrowing murder mystery that strikes at his very core. But that’s not all Batman has to worry about in this title!

Rocksteady has released a new behind-the-scenes video for Batman: Arkham VR which doesn’t offer much in the way of never-before-seen footage. But creative director Sefton Hill did say that “you’re gonna meet some different supervillains as you play through. You’re gonna get stuck in a deathtrap that you need to figure a way out … We wanted to create a series of different scenes that all felt unique when you played through it … unraveling what’s happening is all part of the mystery.”

While most of the in-game clips take place in the Batcave, there is a quick glimpse of Nightwing battling a new adversary. If you’ve read our hands-on report from E3, you may know why that could be a critical moment in this story. According to Acting Lead VR Designer Bill Green, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. “As with any Arkham game that comes out of Rocksteady, we spent a lot of time layering in secrets, cameos, details…every single moment in the game has been hand crafted to the 100th degree.”

Batman: Arkham VR is a Playstation 4 VR exclusive, and it will be released on October 13.
