Babina Brings Directors Home with Stunning Archidirector Poster Series

It may sound cheesy, but movies are one of the things that bring structure to my life. I remember when I saw Star Wars for the first time; that Psycho was the Hitchcock film my first art history teacher chose in high school; and the day I saw my very first Wes Anderson film. You can’t tell me that an entertainment enthusiast (we used to just call ourselves nerds, you know?) doesn’t have a little blueprint of their life that is structured around first viewings, and most viewings, and favorite viewings.

Incredibly, thanks to the art of Italian illustrator Federico Babina, we buffs of the silver screen can now decorate the physical structures we live in with some pretty incredible architecturally motif’d director homages if we so choose. Babina’s work is colorful and absolutely stunning if you ask my opinion. This series of 28 drawings, Archidirector, represent some of the greatest directors out there (in Babina’s personal opinion at least) as dwellings, office buildings and other structural works of art. Anyone with a fondness for design, good film, and a cleanly laid-out drawing of a building will love them. Below are a few examples of the grander collection to whet your appetite.

If you see any you simply cannot live without having as a personal monument to the first time you saw Beetlejuice, The Royal Tenenbaums, Psycho, Star Wars, or anything else incredible, I strongly encourage you to wander over to Babina’s website. The prints are available on Society6 and his website is a treasure chest of stunning work.
