Aww, Yay! Craig Ferguson Will Host the GAME OF THRONES Comic-Con Panel

Fans of Game of Thrones, your Comic-Con International dreams were just made that much greater at the announcement of the HBO series’ panel host. Everyone’s favorite silly Scotsman, Craig Ferguson, has been tapped to moderate what is sure to be the biggest panel Hall H will see this year. Hooray!

Moderating a panel is no small feat — we here at Nerdist are doing a few of ’em! — but Ferguson is no novice to the SDCC scene. Just last year he moderated the epic Doctor Who panel (a show he, like us, loves and adores).

In lieu of timey-wimey business, Ferguson’s jaunt through the Westerosi world will come chockablock with some of your favorites in addition to the series’ showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and author and co-EP George R.R. Martin. Hall H will be downright electrified on Friday at 1:40PM with stars John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Ser Jaime Lannister), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Kit Harington (Jon Snow, knower of nothing), Rose Leslie (Ygritte), Rory McCann (Sandor “The Hound” Clegane), Pedro Pascal (Oberyn “The Red Viper” Martell), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Maisie Williams (Arya “Serial Murderperson-to-Be” Stark) all slated for attendance. A very exciting prospect indeed, no?

We can only hope this all will result in a part being made special for Ferguson. They’ve already deviated quite a bit from the books — c’mon, what’s a little more? Unless, of course, you brilliant book readers can think of a part he’d be perfect for, because in that case we’re all ears (in the comments).

So, who’s going to be heading to that line on the mega-super-duper-early side? Let us know in the comments.

Good thing it isn’t the Comic-Con Doctor Who panel. Mainly because there isn’t going to be one. That, I would miss. Not that I’d go. Three thousand miles is a bit far for a convention. Unless it was the Actual Elder Gods Convention. That might be worth attending.

  2. With Craig’s schedule opening up maybe we will see him in Kings Landing next year?

A pervert is going to moderate one of the most sexually explicit shows on T.V.?  Shocking!

    • Jack says:

“Sexually explicit”??!?!   Geez, I am going to have to rewatch, I dont remember any sexually explicit scenes…I remember some nudity, and some tame sex scenes, but nothing explicit…maybe I was making a sandwich during those scenes…

    • Lilly says:

Oh, heaven forbid we show what humans really do on TV! Everyone has sex, why do we have to be so private about it? Your parents had sex. You’ve probably had sex. It’s not some horrific crime, it’s natural. Nothing explicit about it. Americans have been taught to hide their naughty bits and not display sex to the world, and have therefore become uptight 80 year old grandparents who scream at the sight of a nipple. So people have sex, so what? They’ve shown just about everything humans do on that show save for taking a shit. And that’ll probably be next episode.

And fyi, Craig isn’t a pervert. Everyone enjoys a good sex joke, except for maybe you.

      • IVZTIAN says:

Craig is such an extreme pervert that I fully expect to turn his show on and see him fingering someone. I’m not bothered at all by the sex or nudity on T.V.. My favorite show is Masters of Sex. I’m just annoyed by how perverse Craig is and that he’s always talking about how perverted he is and he’s way to grabby with all his female guests. It’s not a cute trait and it doesn’t diminish it just because you talk about it grandpa.
