It’s been a week since the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War hit YouTube, and it’s safe to call it a sensation, what with almost 90 million views. Of course, we’ll be unpacking this footage for Infinity Stones clues right up until the film’s release. But beyond that, this terrific trailer has already lent itself to a some imaginative recreations. First, we got a version of the trailer using clips from Marvel’s ’90s animated series. Before the inevitable LEGO version of the trailer comes along, it’s time to see the Infinity War play out with Marvel’s action figures!
Via ComicBook.com, this stop motion animated trailer was made by Markez Films over the course of five days. Most of the characters had counterparts in Marvel’s six-inch action figure line, but there were a few improvisations for the ones who didn’t make the cut. And while the Wakandan army set has yet to become a reality, the shot of Captain America’s renegade Avengers running towards the camera still looks great in this form. The same goes for the shot of Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Dr. Strange, and Wong’s stand-in.
Because the movie is still a few months away, there aren’t updated figures for everyone yet. That’s why the Captain America figure was customized to give him a darker costume and facial hair; which turned out to be one of the biggest topics of conversation after the trailer debuted.
Markerz Films has previously made other Marvel stop motion animated shorts, which you can find on their official YouTube channel.
