For some reason, I’m blaming Doctor Strange for this one. According to the Avengers Twitter accountâbecause apparently Twitter is the only place anything of importance happens anymoreâthe latest super-installment from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War, has been moved up a week, from May 4th to April 27th, 2018.
And they just dropped it in a handful of tweets between its stars like it was literally no big deal. As if we all haven’t been organizing our entire summer around the film featuring our favorite big screen super team.
It started out simply enough:
On a scale of one to infinity, how excited are you to see #InfinityWar on May 4th? pic.twitter.com/72jYKj2ODG
— Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) March 1, 2018
And then Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr., got in on the bit:
Any chance I could see it earlier?
— Robert Downey Jr (@RobertDowneyJr) March 1, 2018
Proving the synergy of Marvel, the two accounts continued the chat:
Anything for you, Mr. Stark! Howâs April 27th?
— Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) March 1, 2018
And then RDJ asked for more (because of course he did)âbecause he’s the Veruca Salt of the MCU:
Great. With friends?
— Robert Downey Jr (@RobertDowneyJr) March 1, 2018
And, because Marvel is Marvel, they obliged:
You mean these friends? @ChrisEvans @ChadwickBoseman @DanaiGurira @MarkRuffalo @DonCheadle @AnthonyMackie pic.twitter.com/8tKw3ziSVB
— Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) March 1, 2018
Now we all get to see it a week early in America!
Thatâs a FANTASTIC idea! Done.

So, that’s how we do things nowânot with a press release, but with a tweet! The future is here and it is very brief.
Now who here wants them to release Solo on May 4th now? Let us know in the comments below.
