AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Cast is Getting in on a Huge Charity Campaign

Avengers: Infinity War will bring together the MCU‘s largest collection of superheroes ever for a massive showdown with Thanos. But before that, Marvel will call on its cast to unite off-screen to do something even more important: to help some amazing kid’s charities, along with the likes of Hasbro, Funko, and Amazon.

On Tuesday, Disney announced their new “epic charity campaign,” Marvel: The Universe Unites, which will see the cast of Infinity War be a part of “a series of hero acts and social media challenges to provide funds and raise awareness for charities that support children and families impacted by serious illness.”

A big part of this new campaign will include their 2016 Marvel Studios: Hero Acts initiative, which will be sending some members of the cast their own unique packages full of new toys of their characters. Those will ultimately be donated to various children’s hospitals, but before that, the actors will be asked to “take a creative picture or video to reveal the new toys to fans and post it to their Facebook, Instagram or Twitter” accounts using the hashtag #HeroActs. When their combined posts hit one million likes, they will trigger a $250,000 donation to Starlight Children’s Foundation, a charity that “creates moments of joy and comfort for hospitalized kids and their families.”

But Marvel’s merchandise partners are also getting in on the act. Funko will also donate $1 million to Starlight, and Hasbro is donating $1 million worth of cash and products to Give Kids the World, an organization that “fulfills the wishes of children with critical illnesses and their families by providing them with an unforgettable trip,” which includes visits to their village in Central Florida, as well as access to Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney is even using the announcement of their new products for the movie to help the cause. On March 3, new Infinity War toys and collectibles will be included at the Marvel: The Universe Unites Amazon Wish List, which will allow you to purchase and send toys directly to Starlight yourself. And on March 3 and 4, 10 percent of all Marvel-related purchases at shopDisney.com and U.S. Disney stores will go to Make-A-Wish, up to $50,000.

All in all, this might be the only team-up bigger than the one we’ll see in Infinity War, as well as the only one even more important than beating Thanos.
