ASH VS. EVIL DEAD Nabs a Second Season Order

Fans of Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and the Evil Dead franchise were already beyond pumped for the premiere of Ash vs. Evil Dead, the televised continuation of Ash Williams’ epic tale, set to debut Halloween night on Starz. And now they have two reasons to be excited, as the show has just received an early renewal for season 2—a full three days before the first episode even airs. How’s that for faith in a series’ success, eh?

“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two-decade-long appetite for more Ash,” explained Carmi Zlotnik, Managing Director of Starz, via press release. “The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with season one.”

Returning for season 2 will be executive producers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Ash himself, Bruce Campbell. Also returning will be showrunner Craig DiGregorino and badass actress-queen of everything we love, Lucy Lawless, who plays the mysterious Ruby (a character we’ve yet to meet that—for reasons yet unknown—believes Ash is the sole cause of the outbreaks of Deadites). No word on if the 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 will be returning: fingers crossed contract negotiations are going smoothly.

Season one of Ash vs. Evil Dead premieres Halloween night at 9:00 EST on Starz. Are you excited for the premiere now that you know season 2 is already a go? Do you have as much faith in Raimi and Campbell as everyone else? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
