ASH VS EVIL DEAD Gets Season 2 Premiere Date

Bring on the blood, guts and chain saws … Ash vs. Evil Dead season two is almost here!

Starz has officially set a season two premiere date for the fan-favorite, gory, campy horror drama. The network revealed at the 2016 Summer TCA press tour that “Home,” the season two premiere of the Bruce Campbell series, will air Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m.

But that’s not all the good news: the premiere is going to be an extended episode — yeah, you read that right — where Ash (Campbell) is forced to leave his cushy retirement in Jacksonville and return to his hometown of Elk Grove, Michigan to mount up once again to face The Evil Dead. This time, he’ll have to form an uneasy alliance with his former enemy Ruby (the always-flawless Lucy Lawless), who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon, as Elk Grove becomes the nucleus to the most dangerous horror Ash has faced to date.

Meanwhile, Pablo Simon Bolivar (Ray Santiago), Ash’s loyal sidekick, will be dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin and Kelly Maxwell (Dana DeLorenzo), who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against The Evil Dead. Joining the cast for season two are Lee Majors as Brock Williams aka Ash’s father, Ted Raimi as Ash’s childhood best friend Chet Kaminski and Michelle Hurd as Linda, Ash’s high school love.

Think the Starz show can’t get any bloodier or gorier than it did in season one? Think again. Check out this red band trailer that Comic-Con deemed too bloody for the fans who traveled to San Diego:

Ash vs. Evil Dead season two will be ten half-hour episodes. The Starz series is executive produced by Sam Raimi with Rob Tapert (Evil Dead, Spartacus, Xena: Warrior Princess), Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Burn Notice), Ivan Raimi (Drag Me To Hell, Spider-Man 3) and Craig DiGregorio (Workaholics, Chuck).

Starz also announced the second season premiere date of hit comedy series Blunt Talk. The season two premiere, “I Remember That Time More Like a Movie I Saw Than a Life I Lived,” will air Sunday, October 2 at 8:35 p.m.
