Artist Sculpts Terrifying Demogorgon Bust in Timelapse Video

Stranger Things 2 gave us the life cycle of a demogorgon, by showing how the slug Will threw up in season one’s finale become Dustin’s pet D’Artagnan. “Dart” quickly grew into a disgusting cat eating monster, who then rose to be an even more horrifying demodog. However we all know the monster’s scariest form is it’s final one, a full grown, open-faced, sharp-toothed man-eating biped. But if you would like to enjoy watching one come to life without anxiety over which citizens of Hawkins it will eat, this talented artist’s timelapse video of sculpting a Demogorgon bust will ease your worries. Even if it will still terrify you.

We came across this incredibly detailed, nightmarish sculpture at Laughing Squid, and it’s the work of artist Nicholas J. Brown, who posted the video to his YouTube channel LoreCraft. It’s remarkable to watch a skilled craftsman at work, but just as amazing is all of the work that went into making it was even more than it seems. The section where he inserts the many teeth is slowed down over 30,000 percent, because that part alone took eight hours.

No exaggeration, this is the scariest I have ever found the demogorgon. I know it’s an impossible creature to bring to life with practical effects, but this bust looks like it’s going to come to life and eat me like I’m someone with the initials B.B.

So much for thinking a demogorogon being born from clay would be less terrifying than watching it grow up from a baby slug.

What other creatures or characters from Stranger Things would you love to see him sculpt next? Craft your best idea in our comments below.
