ARROW Rocks Comic-Con With First Look at Season Three

San Diego Comic-Con 2014 is at its peak and already it’s been a great ride with a whole two days still to go. Yesterday, one of the properties that took the convention by storm was The CW’s beloved action/adventure series, Arrow. During the panel, audiences got their first taste of the show’s third season with an exclusive first look video, and now, we have that video for you to watch. Heroes return, new players enter the fray, and we learn even more about Oliver’s missing five years. It’s a pretty eventful couple of minutes.

It’s hard to imagine how the series could get any larger in scope after the overtaking of Starling City by Slade’s super-soldier army at the end of last season. That’s why we’re so happy to see this trailer mainly focusing on the micro-level stories happening with Oliver and his team rather than the city as a whole. Don’t get us wrong, it’s fun to watch The Arrow run across rooftops and fight bad guys, but the soul of this series lies with the characters when they aren’t wearing masks, and it appears that’s what we’ll be getting plenty of in season three.

The Green Arrow adaptation is expected to bring the house down when it returns October 8th, but until then, this trailer in addition to the first look we got at Roy Harper’s (Colton Haynes) Arsenal yesterday is more than enough to hold us over. That said, we wouldn’t mind more if The CW is willing to offer, just sayin’.

Yay, very excited. I want Roy to be a better player this season. Not the sniveling confused moody teen, but a more adept team member. Inner conflict is fine and good, but Oliver and Diggles have enough of that on their own. Just me and my thoughts. Also very glad to see Sarah. Even if Laurel is destined for the Black Canary role, I like the idea that Sarah will be on hand to train her, sister to sister style. That could be a great dynamic. And all I can say about Felicity is she better not be/stay dead. She is the beating heart and conscience of that show. Kill the heart, kill the show. Maybe. Just a thought.

Looks just as bad as the first two seasons.
