Anne Hathaway Will Fight Aliens in THE SHOWER

Anne Hathaway is no stranger to sci-fi or comedy films, so naturally, her next project will be a combination of both genres. Hathaway is set to star in and produce The Shower, based on a script by Jac Schaeffer that made the Blacklist, which is the annual list of the best unproduced scripts in Hollywood.

The story of The Shower follows a group of women at a baby shower which is interrupted by a meteor shower that transforms men into aliens. Thus the fate of the world falls on the untransformed women, who have to find a way to save themselves and the rest of humanity.

At the moment, Hathaway is the only cast member attached to The Shower. Hathaway is best known for her roles in Rachel Getting Married, Becoming Jane, Bride Wars, Get Smart, Les Misérables, The Dark Knight Rises, and Interstellar.

Hathaway’s husband, Adam Shulman is also attached to The Shower as a producer, alongside Schaeffer, Andrew Lauren, and D.J. Gugenheim. Currently, The Shower does not have a studio attached to bring the project to the big screen. For now, the focus will be on finding a director for The Shower, and surrounding Hathaway with potential costars.

The next film to feature Hathaway will be The Intern, in which she will star as a Fashion CEO opposite Robert De Niro as the title character. The Intern will be released on September 25. Hathaway is also set to reprise her role as the White Queen in Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, which will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
