And Now, a Supercut of Matthew McConaughey Making Weird Noises

If you asked people to name the single greatest line ever delivered by Matthew McConaughey in his twenty plus year career, most would probably pick his iconic one from Dazed and Confused, “Alright, alright, alright.” But after watching this video, wonderfully and simply titled “Matthew McConaughey Makes Noises,” maybe it should be, “Ungh, wooo, heeyah.”

This supercut—that we first ran across at AV Club—was put together by the YouTube account Owenenergy Studios. But don’t assume these clips only come from his more ridiculous movies: his Oscar winning performance for Dallas Buyers Club is prominently featured, as his turn as Rust Cohle on True Detective. It looks like time is a flat circle, where apparently Matthew McConaughey never stops grunting or yelling out like a caveman.

Also, while everyone always likes to point out how often McConaughey ends up not wearing a shirt in his films, this shows he also spends a ton of time in the water too….without his shirt on.

By the time I got to the end of the nearly four minute video I started to question whether or not the man can even speak actual words. He sounds like he has his own language, which in some ways he does. This is like if Encino Man went on to have one of the best careers in Hollywood.

Also, good luck ever watching one of his movies now without paying attention to every hoot, growl, and weird noise he makes.

Which clip in this video did you find the weirdest? We want to hear your thoughts in the comments below, but use real words please.
