Watch AMERICAN GODS’ SXSW Panel Right Here, Right Now!

The good news? The seemingly never-ending wait for American Gods to land on our TV screens is nearly over. The bad news? Just kidding: there is no bad news! Because not only does that wait have but a scant few weeks left, the cast and creators are finally able to talk about the Neil Gaiman adaptation freely. And that’s exactly what they did following the world premiere of the first episode of the series at SXSW.

While speaking with Mashable’s TV Editor Laura Prudom, Bryan Fuller, Michael Green, and just some of their insanely impressive (and expansive) cast—Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Ian McShane, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, Orlando Jones, Jonathan Tucker, and Betty Gilpin—to talk about the series’ crazy conceit, insane antics, and seemingly increased relevance in the wake of a world hell bent on dividing us all for what we believe.

And that point was a major focus of the panel, with Bryan Fuller outright saying that, “It’s definitely a different show than we sought out to make because the political climate in America shit the bed.” (And that’s just 2 minutes in!) Needless to say, the panel only continues from there with the dissection of the series’ social commentary. But don’t just take our word for it — watch it!

Are you looking forward to American Gods when it heads to Starz on Sunday, April 30th? Let us know in the comments below!
