AMC Unveils New Trailer For THE WALKING DEAD Season 5

There was a moment towards the beginning of the most recent run of The Walking Dead season five where we truly thought the group was going to be sticking together. However, as is the way of the AMC zombie drama, that hope was quickly dashed when Rick and the gang parted ways. However, for the moment, everyone is back together again as we head into the second half of season five. And while the first trailer we got a few weekends ago was just some non-canon marketing material, the latest spot promoting the series’ February return is full of a bunch of new footage for everyone to enjoy:

This new trailer is highly intriguing to us when compared to the one we got coming out of San Diego Comic-Con over the summer for the kick-off of season five. In that trailer, things seemed to be pitting the group vs. the world rather than the basic premise of the show, which is the group vs. zombies. However, this trailer appears to be promising a more stripped down return to the show’s undead, flesh-eating roots. Honestly, it’d be a nice change of pace.

So much of The Walking Dead has felt like it’s gone down the hole of “humanity is the worst” that it would be nice to watch the gang spend a few episodes just trying to get through the onslaught of walkers in order to survive. If that’s what this latest run of episodes is promising, then we’re going to be in for an exhilarating couple of months.

The Walking Dead returns February 8 at 9/8c on AMC.

  2. Shane says:

    Do people still watch this?

  3. Ike Sours says:

The show/comic is about psychology and right/wrong. Walkers are obstacles and kill gags which should be more than acceptable while character development is what fuels the show.

  4. Caaaaarrrrllll says:

Person who write this doesn’t read comics. People  will be redeamed and be the worst again. Not enough story with just man v zombieq

  5. dead says:

    isnt it 5.5?

  6. Kelly Cotter says:

I agree. I like the idea of more man vs zombie. But who am I fooling either way I love this show!
