Amazon’s New Service Will Deliver Items Directly to the Trunk of Your Car

Calling Amazon‘s presence in our modern world “ubiquitous” is really a huge understatement. They sell any and every product or service you can think of, they own entire companies like Whole Foods, they employ over a half million people, and they also produce award-winning movies and TV shows. Amazon is everywhere. And now they want access to your car.

The newest addition to Amazon’s very personal (like, way too personal) in-home delivery service is Amazon Key In-Car, which we first heard about at Mashable. Not content to just have access to your home, the company will now give you the option of letting packages be brought straight to your automobile’s trunk. But don’t worry, just like with their home Key service, they can only do it if you allow them to.

Plenty of us know the frustration of having a package stolen from our porches, which is why for all of the jokes we make about Amazon having access to our home and car even when we aren’t there, there is an obvious appeal to this service. Being able to have anything we need already waiting in our car for us thanks to a simple app is really convenient. Not to mention if we had to choose, a stranger having access to the trunk of our Camry is much less worrisome than giving them a key into our home…That’s where we keep all our toys. That we ordered on Amazon.

Will you use this service? Or are you worried about how much access one company can have to your personal space? Tell us why in the comments below.
