Need a reminder that you canât trust anything, not even something you see with your own two eyes? Then this video is just what the (eye) doctor ordered, because after watching this collection of anamorphic illusions youâll remember that what you see is not always what you get.
Made by YouTube user brusspup, this video is a collection of distorted images that, when viewed one way, look like real, three-dimensional objects, but when turned even slightly are clearly nothing more than high-resolution photographs.
I would have bet anything some of them were real at the start. Then I was amazed by how real the hat looked, but I knew it was just a picture.
Stupid illusions, making me question everything. Although, that end trick was so good it kind of made me forget how much my brain was struggling with all of it.
This is merely a form of an optical illusion, and you know that as you are watching it, the same way you know a magician isnât doing real magic, but man does it totally mess with your head. By the time the images were spun back around to their original positions I had a hard time accepting that they werenât actual items I could pick up and use.
Another great thing about this video is re-watching it, trying to figure out what, if anything, is real at the start, and what may or may not have been changed during it.
Nothing is real; life is an illusion; I have a headache.
Whatâs the best optical illusion youâve ever seen? We want your point-of-view to magically appear in comments below.
