All Our GAME OF THRONES Season 7 Predictions

The Rains of Castamere will soon be played for Game of Thrones. In a recent interview with Deadline, show runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss confirmed that which we’ve all been fearing: the show will be drawing to a close after only two more abbreviated seasons. “It’s not supposed to be an ongoing show,” Benioff explained in the interview. “We wanted it to be one giant story without padding it out to ten extra hours”.

But don’t get too sad just yet. Even if Game of Thrones is about to be laid to rest in the crypt of TV’s all time greatest shows, we still have 13 to 15 hours left in the Seven Kingdoms before it’s all over. What exactly is going to happen over the span of those 13 to 15 hours? Naturally, we have a few predictions.

For starters, now that HBO has confirmed that R plus L does officially equal J, there might be some good old-fashioned Game of Thrones incest coming our way. The revelation that Rhaegar Targaryen is Jon Snow’s father means that Daenerys is his aunt (we guess that makes him the cousin of dragons). When Dany hits the shores of Westeros, she’s going to be looking for the head of a Major House to marry in order to solidify her position of power. We think she’ll settle on the head of House Stark, unknowingly ending up in a relationship with her nephew.

But how will Jon and Dany discover they’re related? The only person who knows that right now is Bran, which means he’s going to have to cross The Wall to tell them… and bring an entire army of ice zombies along with him! Ever since Bran touched hands with the Night King in one of his visions, the White Walkers can follow him wherever he goes, even breaking through magical barriers like The Wall.

Next up we have Cersei, who obviously has to go. But who will kill her? In the books she receives a prophecy that informs her she will die at the hands of  “valonqar”, which is the High Valyrian word for “little brother.” That makes the obvious choice Tyrion, who is currently on a mission to get his new queen a seat on the Iron Throne. But not so fast! Cersei has another little brother, even if he’s only a few minutes younger. Jaime killed Aerys Targaryen for trying to blow up a king sized portion of King’s Landing 15 years ago. He can’t be too happy his Ceresi undid all that hard work while he was out of town for a few days. The icy stare he gives her, as she took her place at the head of the Seven Kingdoms, tells us he may just be ready to get into the queen-slaying business.

Of course, since Valyrian is a genderless language, Cersei’s killer need not be a boy. It may not even need to be her own little brother. That’s why Arya Stark could also be a contender for the Queen Slayer of the Year Award, especially now that she’s finally out of assassin school and back to checking names off her death list. Which, by the way, seems to be leading her down at very Lady Stoneheart-esque path. We’ve all come to terms with the fact that the zombified Catelyn Stark isn’t gong to make the jump from page to screen, but we think that means Arya will be fulfilling the role she played in the book. The last we saw Lady Stoneheart she was getting ready to kill Brienne of Tarth for sporting some Lannister armor. Does that mean we’ll be getting an Arya vs. Brienne battle in season seven? In the name of all that is epic, we certainly hope so.

There are still a Citadel Library’s worth of questions left to be answered as to what happens in the final two season of Game of Thrones. Will Euron Greyjoy ever catch up with Theon and Yara, his fleet thieving niece and nephew? Will the Cleganebowl every happen? How long will it take Sam to read all those books? Let us know what you think!
