ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS Trailer Shows an Even Stranger Wonderland

When we last left the titular heroine of Alice in Wonderland, she had just defeated the Jabberwocky, escaped Underland, and solidified her identity as a true adventurer. This May, Alice (Mia Wasikowska) will be drawn back into the fantastical realm in order to save her friend, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp).

Disney has released a new trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass, which depicts Alice’s return to Underland and her adventures through time. Fittingly enough, the trailer also puts a spotlight on the new villain, Time, as played by Sacha Baron Cohen.

The story for the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass film is only loosely based upon the second “Alice” novel by Lewis Carroll. To help the Mad Hatter reclaim his “Muchness,” Mirana the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to find the Chronosphere, an object that can send her back in time. Along the way, Alice will reunite with the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), Absolem the hookah-smoking caterpillar (Alan Rickman), and the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry), as well as the vengeful Red Queen, Iracebeth (Helena Bonham Carter) before encountering new enemies who may be even more dangerous than the Jabberwocky.

Alice Through the Looking Glass was written by Linda Woolverton and directed by James Bobin, while Burton returns as an executive producer. Alice Through the Looking Glass will appear in movie theaters on May 27.
