Alan Rickman Gets His Own ‘Snape-ricot’ Tribute Beer

We’ve seen a lot of terrific tributes to the late, great Alan Rickman, but this is the first one that’s made us thirsty!

Via CBR’s Robot 6, Breckenridge Brewery and the Denver Comic Con are releasing a limited-edition craft beer named “Snape-ricot,” which was chosen to honor Rickman’s role as Severus Snape in the eight Harry Potter films. As the name suggests, “Snape-ricot” is made from fresh apricot puree, and Breckenridge Brewery describes it as “a complex potion that reveals unexpected layers as it progresses.” Doesn’t that sound just like Hogwarts’ iconic Potions teacher?

“Snape-ricot’s” name was one of 500 potential titles, which also included these other comic book and movie-friendly titles: “Harley Quench,” “It’s a Trap-Ricot,” “Pale Hydra” and “Sweep the Lager.” Damn it…, now we want “Sweep the Lager” too! Breckenridge Brewery’s previous limited edition beers included “The Caped Brewsader, “Brews Wayne” and “Hulk’s Mash.”

The bad news for Harry Potter fans with a thirst for “Snape-ricot” is that it really will be limited and it’s apparently only going to be available in Denver at select bars during the Denver Comic Con from June 17-19.

But first, there’s gonna be a special launch party for “Snape-ricot” on May 20, at Stoney’s Bar and Grill in Denver. Artist Frankie Serna has designed a special pint glass that will be given away for free to the first 200 people who order “Snape-ricot.” So, if you’re gonna be there, order early!
