Weâve seen a lot of terrific tributes to the late, great Alan Rickman, but this is the first one thatâs made us thirsty!
Via CBRâs Robot 6, Breckenridge Brewery and the Denver Comic Con are releasing a limited-edition craft beer named âSnape-ricot,â which was chosen to honor Rickmanâs role as Severus Snape in the eight Harry Potter films. As the name suggests, âSnape-ricotâ is made from fresh apricot puree, and Breckenridge Brewery describes it as âa complex potion that reveals unexpected layers as it progresses.â Doesnât that sound just like Hogwarts’ iconic Potions teacher?
âSnape-ricotâsâ name was one of 500 potential titles, which also included these other comic book and movie-friendly titles: âHarley Quench,â âItâs a Trap-Ricot,â âPale Hydraâ and âSweep the Lager.â Damn it…, now we want âSweep the Lagerâ too! Breckenridge Breweryâs previous limited edition beers included âThe Caped Brewsader, âBrews Wayneâ and âHulkâs Mash.â
The bad news for Harry Potter fans with a thirst for âSnape-ricotâ is that it really will be limited and itâs apparently only going to be available in Denver at select bars during the Denver Comic Con from June 17-19.
But first, thereâs gonna be a special launch party for âSnape-ricotâ on May 20, at Stoneyâs Bar and Grill in Denver. Artist Frankie Serna has designed a special pint glass that will be given away for free to the first 200 people who order âSnape-ricot.â So, if youâre gonna be there, order early!
