Adorable Animated Short MONSTRO! Gives BLACK LAGOON a Makeover

It’s not much of a stretch to assume that The Creature (as in the one from the Black Lagoon) was interested in human ladies for one rather unsavory reason. But since that film was made in 1954, it was mostly just suggested that “the creature” was kind of horny. (For a much fuller, and therefore grosser, extrapolation of this sort of inter-species ickiness, check out 1980’s Humanoids from the Deep. Don’t watch it with your mom.)

But Monstro!, the highly amusing new animated short from Chris Romano poses an alternative theory as to what The Creature may have been after. It’s probably not what you think. Monstro! offers some lovely animation, a nice silly tone, and even some great voice work. Also I love all that slime drool. Hopefully, Romano’s next short will deal with King Kong. That big ape also had some weird issues about human women.
