When a movie has two strong leads, the chemistry between them has to be perfect for the movie to be successful. If you can’t see the characters gel together on screen, it can ruin the movie experience. In fact, sometimes it’s just easier for actors to share the screen with themselves instead of having to deal with another person.

Thanks to this video by Burger Fiction, we can celebrate those actors that were able to (for the most part) play two separate characters in the same movie. The video starts with Youth in Revolt‘s Michael Cera as Nick Twisp and his suave, yet evil doppelganger Francois Dillinger. We also see a clip of Sam Rockwell from his powerhouse of a performance in Duncan Jones’ Moon.

Other highlights include Ash vs. Evil Ash from Army of Darkness, as well as Bill and Ted vs their evil robot twins. I won’t lie, watching that clip makes me want Bill and Ted 3 that much more.

What’s interesting is the “movie magic” that’s required to pull off this trick is not a modern innovation, as a clip from 1921’s The Playhouse proves, this trope goes almost as far backs as movies themselves.
