A Preview Of “Axe Cop,” TV Version

Hey, you wanna see the trailer Fox’s Animation Domination High Def debuted at Wondercon for Axe Cop? Oh, yes, you do, Dr. Doo Doo! As you undoubtedly know by now, Axe Cop sprung from the imagination of five-year-old Malachai Nicolle and was developed by his brother Ethan, a comic book artist. The web comic is now a TV show, coming July 27th, 11 pm, on Fox.

Oh, the cast: Ken Marino, Patton Oswalt, Rob Huebel and Megan Mullally, plus guest stars like Giancarlo Esposito (oh, sure, Gus Fring to you, but always Paul Gigante to me), Jonathan Banks, Jared Harris, and Peter Serafinowicz. And you can find out more about Axe Cop from Nerdist News’ interview with Ethan Nicolle.

This has a ton of potential.

  1. Sir Snarksalot says:

Wait, Axe Cop gets its own animated series on Fox but a Dr. McNinja animated series gets rejected by Adult Swim? The Nicolle’s must have much better representation than Hastings.

  2. Anthony says:

Of all the ComicCon panels I’ve ever sat in on, this one had to be the most bizarre. They had the 5 year old kid on speaker phone answering questions about major plot points and how the Axe Cop universe worked. Suffice to say: If you’ve *ever* tried to talk to a 5 year old kid on the phone for longer than 2 minutes, it’s like talking to someone on drugs. Still, I did kind of like the catchphrase: I’ll Chop Your Head OFF!!!!!

  3. Martin says:

It started out as a web comic (which is still going on)

It’s definitely a comic book, I have many issues. If it’s a webcomic I would read that too. I can’t wait for this series to start, it’s insanely funny.

  5. This was a Webcomic? I thought it was a regular comic. I saw it at the store last thursday.
