All aboard for the Mass Effect: Andromeda hype train!
If you followed along with our EA Play E3 Press conference live blog (which you can check out right here), you know how stellar the announcements were. The show kicked off with a first look at Titanfall 2 gameplay and Madden. Now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here; we’ve got our first actual (yet brief) look at Bioware‘s Mass Effect: Andromeda. Spoilers: it’s looking absolutely gorgeous! Feast your eyes on the trailer above.
While we won’t get to see more of the game until later this year, the footage shown off gives us our first taste of what’s on the way. Unfortunately, not much was revealed in the way of story, aside from the mysterious woman at the end of the trailer who emerged from a cryogenic pod and uttered “We made it.” We can’t wait to make it to the point where we learn more about the character and her shipmates.
According to the developer, they’ve built on things we fans love about the series, and let their imaginations run wild. The game will feature a bigger adventure, new characters, and more freedom. It was also revealed that Andromeda was developed entirely on the Frostbite engine. The visuals were certainly crisp, so it will be interesting to see how they innovate on previous iterations.
The video’s official description is as follows:
“A whole new galaxy awaits for you to explore. Mass Effect: Andromeda pushes the boundaries of known space into the next generation, delivering distant star systems with remote and hostile planets ripe for discovery.”
Mass Effect: Andromeda is slated to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in early 2017.
