A GAME OF THRONES Concert Tour is Coming in 2017

Composer Ramin Djawadi was reportedly a late addition to HBO’s Game of Thrones series, but his music was quickly embraced by fans all over the world. Can you picture the show without hearing Djawadi’s instantly iconic opening theme? For the last six seasons, Djawadi’s epic scores have given us an even deeper appreciation of the fantasy realm created by George R.R. Martin. Now, fans across the United States will get the chance to hear Djawadi’s music in person during a Game of Thrones concert tour!

The Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience will start on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri, and it will head to 27 other cities before wrapping up on Sunday, April 2, in Portland, Oregon. Djawadi will conduct the tour in each city alongside a full orchestra and choir, to faithfully recreate the music of the show. The concert will also include “state-of-the-art technology” to project scenes from the series and original footage shot for the concert; which will depict the seven kingdoms of Westeros and the cities of Essos where Daenerys Targaryen slowly rose to power. I mean, they didn’t need to give us all that; we’d have been happy with the live music in a dark room.

There are many musical moments from Game of Thrones that deserve to be part of this concert series, but we’re particularly hoping to hear this piece from the fourth season finale.

If you want to pick up advance tickets for the Game of Thrones concerts, Live Nation will begin selling them on Saturday, August 13. You can buy tickets here.
