A FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S RPG is Coming

The Five Nights at Freddy’s series has been thrilling fans for well over a year now, initially launching back in August of 2014. Now that Scott Cawthon has released four Freddy games, he’s decided to take the game a step beyond. Instead of merely releasing a Five Nights at Freddy’s 5, the developer has revealed on the game’s Steam Page that his next title will be an RPG titled FNAF World, and will be releasing on PC, Android, and iOS.

He states, “The new game that I’m working on will be called FNAF World. It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNAF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I’ve been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week.”

He had originally planned to release a demo just in time for Halloween, but due to the massive scope of the game, it looks like he won’t be able to meet that deadline. But, don’t worry. Cawthon promises to release a free demo as soon as it’s ready.

This is certainly an interesting step for the developer. By the sound of a statement he made at the beginning of the post, this won’t be his first venture into the world of RPG’s. He noted, “I wanted to use these characters in a new and fun way because they are so near and dear to my heart, and I was excited to work on a type of game that I hadn’t made in a long time.”

We can’t wait to hear more about what’s in store for FNAF. Would you want to play an RPG set in the world of Five Night’s at Freddy’s? Want to see some pretty messed up horror scenes from other video games? Check out a very spooky episode of Nerdist Play below.
