That grumbling in the pit of your stomach, the itch for just one more fix, the orange dust on your fingers â youâve been getting dangerously cheesy. Not the most upscale meal. But now you can enjoy your cheesy treats in a more…civilized manner because a Cheetos themed restaurant is about to open up in New York City.
Food Networkâs chef Anne Burrell is the mastermind behind the concept, opening up the orange curtain to reveal the worldâs first Cheetos-inspired restaurant, The Spotted Cheetah. According to foodsided.com, the pop-up is a collaboration with PepsiCoâs Frito-Lay division, the parent company of Cheetos.
Cheetos bagels, sushi and other inspired snacks have been a hit on Instagram, so it makes sense for the brand itself to jump on the bandwagon. The Spotted Cheetahâs menu will be decidedly more refined than a plastic bag — crusted chicken milanese and fried green tomatoes that will both get an infusion of the orange snack. Cheetos meatballs will elevate an Italian classic by combining beef, pork and veal meatballs with crushed Cheetos.
Peruse the menu and you start to see the world through cheese-colored glasses, and the addition of Cheetos to the dishes almost start to make sense. The Flaminâ Hot limón chicken tacos definitely caught my eye. Who doesnât like tacos?
If you thought Cheetos couldnât possibly be used in the desserts youâd be so very wrong. At The Spotted Cheetah, theyâll be offering up cheesecake, cookies, and apple crepes all with a healthy dose of Cheetos magic.
The Spotted Cheetah will be open August 15-17, for the full menu and to make your reservations go to thespottedcheetah.com.
