With Doctor Strange, Marvel has quite literally added a new dimension to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: one filled with magic, mayhem, and a metric ton of Benedict Cumberbatch. Director Scott Derrickson’s vision of Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme is a thrilling, entrancing introduction to the magical side of the MCU, anchored by charismatic performances and some seriously eye-popping visuals. Most of all, it’s amazing to see a character as deeply weird as Doctor Strange done properly on the big screen.
With all the buzz surrounding the film, which hits theaters on November 4, I’ve been re-reading old comics and reading up on the weird history of both the character and his creation. While we’ve covered Doctor Strange’s comic book history on a previous episode of The Dan Cave, there’s so much ancillary weirdness surrounding the master of the mystic arts that it warranted a follow-up. So on today’s The Dan Cave, we’re taking a deep dive into the weird, wild world of Doctor Strange to bring you some of the most eyebrow-raising information this side of the Dark Dimension.
What is your favorite Doctor Strange fact? What do you hope to see from the movie? Let me know in the comments below.
