11.22.63 Trailer with James Franco is Tense and Intriguing

I’m going to tell you something. It’s gonna seem crazy. I need you to go in this closet. Take a look around. Then, I’ll tell you everything.

That was 1960. I need you to go back there, to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

That’s the start of the wonderful new trailer for the eight part mini-series coming to Hulu, 11.22.63, from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King, which tells the story of a high school English teacher sent back in time to stop the president’s murder. Based on King’s best-selling book by the same name, the show stars James Franco as Jake Epping, who is tasked with figuring out a way to prevent what happened in Dallas on that fateful day.

However, as Epping finds out, it’s not as simple as going back and just stopping Oswald, or whoever may have killed President Kennedy, since “the past doesn’t want to be changed.”

“When you’re close to changing something, you feel it push back,” says Chris Cooper’s character Al Templeton, the man who sends Epping back.

Things are only further complicated by Lee Harvey Oswald, and when Epping falls in love with a beautiful woman (played by Sarah Gadon).

The trailer looks beautiful and promises plenty of intrigue, as well as plenty of ominous people to be afraid of. I mean, it is a Stephen King story after all; the odds of there being terror involved are pretty high.

The first episode will be available on Hulu, fittingly, on February 15, 2016, President’s Day.
