ZOOTOPIA Drops a Hit Single and New Trailer Just in Time for New Year’s Eve

Zootopia is very much playing the “go big or go home” game ramping up to its March 4th release date. Not only does the upcoming animated flick have an arsenal of big name talent at their disposal; it also scored a coveted trailer spot alongside the Disney’s other heavy hitters (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Jungle Book) before Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now, just as New Year’s is about to roll out around the globe, Disney has released a new trailer to keep us excited for a good story and the kind of killer soundtrack singles that we all know the studio can deliver. Check it out above.

A WORLD FOR BIG AND SMALL — Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Zootopia" features a vast world where humans never existed. With advanced transportation systems that accommodate mammals of all shapes and sizes, the modern mammal metropolis was built by animals for animals. Directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, and produced by Clark Spencer, "Zootopia" opens in U.S. theaters on March 4, 2016. ©2016 Disney. All Rights Reserved.

That voice you hear is none other than Grammy® winner Shakira, and the single, which will officially be available for download January 8th, is titled “Try Everything”. It’s fun and catchy, and I don’t doubt we’ll all be bopping along to it in the very near future. It was written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate. And while the trailer doesn’t make this completely clear, Disney has released that the character Shakira voices is named Gazelle, an international animal superstar with a socially conscious outlook. I don’t know why that makes me laugh so much, but it does.

MR. BIG — The most fearsome crime boss in Tundratown, Mr. Big commands respect—and when he feels disrespected, bad things happen. A small mammal with a big personality, Mr. Big is voiced by Maurice La Marche. Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Zootopia" opens in U.S. theaters on March 4, 2016. ©2016 Disney. All Rights Reserved.

The really fun thing about this new trailer is actually all the new information it gives us. They highlight some great details about the world of Zootopia itself, where civilized animals of all shapes, sizes, and diets live in peace and harmony…until they don’t. There’s clearly going to be a plot line about being all you can be and not letting the man get you down, even when The Man is a water ox. The voice cast includes the talents of Once Upon A Time‘s Ginnifer Goodwin and Arrested Development‘s Jason Bateman alongside Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, and Jenny Slate, as well as many more.

A NEW VIEW — Unlikely partners Judy Hopps, Zootopia's first bunny cop, and Nick Wilde, a con-artist fox, find themselves riding high above the modern mammal metropolis while working together to solve a mystery. Featuring the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde, Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Zootopia" opens in U.S. theaters on March 4, 2016. ©2016 Disney. All Rights Reserved.

Zootopia opens in theaters on March 4, 2016. I might actually make it to a cinema to see this one because something tells me the details will be that much better on the big screen. Tell us what you think of the new trailer in the comments below!
