By now youâve probably seen Taylor Swiftâs video for her single âWildest Dreams,â you know, the one about red lipstick? While you were mesmerized by all that red you may have missed it, but the video also incorporates some wild African animals, and the people over at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio decided to use their own animals to recreate the video in an attempt to lure their prey Taylor Swift into visiting.
Swiftâs 1989 tour will be performing in Columbus, Ohio today and tomorrow (September 17 and 18) and the staff hopes their homage will inspire the singer to fulfill their wildest dreams (heh) with a trip over to their non-profit zoo. Jack Hanna himself delivers the message at videoâs end. Jack Hanna!
They manage to capture some of the best moments of the video, including their use of an old plane, absurd, billowing fabrics, and of course, awesome animals. We hope the pop-singer is able to make it, because this zoo does a lot in the name of conservation. From their website:
At the Columbus Zoo and the Wilds, we take conservation seriously. Today we devote $4 million of privately raised funds to support conservation efforts annually around the world, most recently 70 projects in 30 countries.
I’d really like to know about the genesis of this video, because it seems like this idea had less to do with having lions and giraffes at their disposal, and more about the fact they have an that amazing, vintage airplane just lying around.
If you had access to film at a zoo, what famous movie/video/TV show would you try to recreate? Shake off your best idea and share it right here.
