Zombies and Nazis and Flying Sharks, Oh My!

What if the Third Reich was secretly working on technology to not only enhance the re-animated bodies of dead soldiers, but also give them jet-powered flying sharks to command? That is the hard-hitting question that director Marc Fehse seeks to answer in his upcoming film Sky Sharks.sky_sharks_poster

The new trailer, recently shared by TwitchFilm, sheds some light on the overarching plot of this wildly absurd film and we have got to admit we want to see where it goes. It seems that in the final throes of World War II, Nazi Germany was dead-set (puns!) on doing anything it could to win the war including some rather sky-high (puns!) experiments. Nazi officials by the name of “Hermann” and “Kammler” (perhaps referencing real-life leaders Hermann Göring & Hans Kammler) are presented with “Project Himmelsfaust” which literally translates to “sky/heaven fist.” Flash forward 72 years, and it seems the project took quite some time to get off the ground (puns!) with the world now under attack from jet-powered sharks ridden by zombie Nazis. And how does one combat such a threat? Why, you assemble a task force made from a group of reanimated US soldiers who fell during Vietnam and call them the “Dead Flesh Four.” You know, that old chestnut.

The low-budget CGI looks perfect for the B-movie style of film making, but what has us most excited, other than flying sharks and zombies, is the cast. The battle between the world and shark-riding zombie Nazis will be star-studded with the likes of Naomi Grossman (American Horror Story), Amanda Bearse (Married With Children), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Mortal Kombat) and the Candyman himself, Tony Todd.
